6 Dec 09: A pair of wheels went missing from the pits at Foxhall. Not entirely coincidentally, a different pair of wheels were left at the venue. 2 Dec 09: A reminder to all riders: service to bikes can only be in the pits. You cannot take assistance at any other point on the course. You must follow the course to get to the pits, i.e. you can't take short cuts and you can't go backwards along the course. If you come into the pits you must dismount to take service, you cannot just ride through. The pit areas are divided into two sections, one smaller area for riders' equipment where they don't have a helper and one for that with heplers. Please make sure you leave kit in the correct area. Any unattended kit will be put somewhere in the unattended area.

28 Nov 09: The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that at the Regional Championships, the Vet 50+ and Vet 60+ riders will be set off one minute after the Vet 40s. We will allow for this time difference when calculating league points. That means that it is in all league vets' interests to ride as hard as possible for the full race - it's not a good idea to ease up in the last lap on the grounds that you don't expect to be caught and don't think you will catch the rider in front.

28 Nov 09: Minutes from the meeting on 13th October 2009 have been added to the committee page.

28 Nov 09: Added the race day programme for the Regional Championships with course maps and other information. Thanks to Carl Thompson for that.

18 Nov 09: Updated the list of registered riders. These riders are eligible for league points at round 8 at Davy Down.

17 Nov 09: Some riders have asked for clarification of how prizes are awarded at Eastern League races. Here's what happens: the League defines a standard prize list, with prizes in various categories (Open, Vet, Youth etc.) Each rider is eligible for prizes in one or more categories. For example, a junior rider is eligible for Open and Junior prizes. A 55 year old non-elite rider is eligible for Veteran and Vet 50 prizes, but not Vet 60 prizes. To allocate the prizes, we work down the race result from the top. For each rider, we look at all the prizes that the rider is eligible for that have not yet been awarded. The rider receives the highest value prize that has not yet been awarded. If a rider is eligible for two or more prizes of equal value, they are given the one for the more "prestigious" category. For example, they would be given a Veteran prize rather than a Vet 50 prize, or an Open prize rather than a Junior prize. The process continues until we run out of prizes or riders.

17 Nov 09: At the AGM earlier this year, it was agreed that riders could claim their season's average points for one event where they were unable to race due to organising or helping at the race. A number of riders have taken advantage of this and the league tables now include these average points (indicated by an "A" in the table). Normally, riders are required to claim average points in advance or on race day. However, in view of the fact that this rule may not be widely known, the committee has agreed that riders may retrospectively claim average points for the events that have already taken place this season. The deadline for such claims is 29th November 2009.
